Acupuncture
Acupuncture stimulates the central nervous system to send chemicals into the muscles, spinal cord, and brain. These biochemical messengers direct the body's natural healing abilities, hormones, and pain pathways.
Acupuncture has gained widespread acceptance as a safe medicine whose health effects are increasingly being understood through clinical studies. It is accepted and promoted by the World Health Organization (WHO) and the American College of Physicians (ACP).
Herbal Medicine
Chinese Herbology has been practiced for 3,000 years, predating western pharmacology. Its efficacy and safety has been time-tested, and is a cornerstone of Chinese Medicine.
RVA Acupuncture is a board-certified herbal clinic. Formulas are prescribed for the needs of individual patients. Our herb suppliers follow standards of current Good Manufacturing Practice (cGMP) established by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and World Health Organization (WHO).
Microcurrent Therapy
Frequency-specific microcurrent is painless and non-invasive and suitable for most anyone. Significant advances and research have demonstrated and proven the effectiveness of microcurrent to promote optimal wellness, decrease inflammation, reverse aging, and heal trauma in ways previously considered impossible. Microcurrent has been clinically proven to increase ATP (Adenosine triphosphate --our cell's fuel) by up to 500%. That means collagen and elastin production to repair tissues, muscles and skin.

How We Work
Initial Consultation
A consult is required to discuss your health concerns, briefly go over your health history, and determine if we can help and accept you as a new client.
Evaluation
Our practitioner will give her best recommendation for types of therapies that are right for you, and estimated duration and frequency of visits.
Comprehensive Care Plan
There are 3 stages to a successful Care Plan:
Investigative: In this stage we measure your response to treatment and build momentum.
Corrective: Reduction in problematic symptoms and restoration of your body's ability to function again.
Maintenance: Crucial for lasting benefits as you return to work or the activities you love most.

Vicky Lee, L.Ac. is a nationally-licensed Acupuncturist and Herbologist with a Masters from Pacific College of Oriental Medicine. She relocated from San Diego in 2018. When she got to know and love Richmond, she commemorated it by adopting the name RVA Acupuncture three years later.
Ms. Lee arrived at her specialty when, after years of practice, she recognized there was a population that was not being supported by western medicine – especially retirement-aged folks and those in chronic pain; those who are told they "have to live with it".
She has helped many of them to enjoy life again and feel like themselves again.
